Sanna Urvas: How should Christians respond to climate change?

Climate change and being ecological are central topics in current discussions. How should a Christian approach all of this? What perspectives do the Bible and theology provide on environmental issues?

This Wednesday evening, on January 17th, we will have theologian Dr. Sanna Urvas, specializing in ecotheology (and much more), discuss this topic. She has, among other things, represented global Pentecostalism in UN climate change discussions.

Certainly an interesting night ahead, welcome to listen and discuss!

The actual programme starts at 7:00 PM, but you are welcome to join the starting from 6:30 PM. The evening concludes with a free supper and devotion.

8 19:00: Tapio Puolimatka: Sexuality in contemporary society 08.05.2024 19:00 The Living Room of the Teekkari Village Jämeräntaival 5 A Espoo, Nyky-yhteiskunnassa, jossa oman seksuaalisen identiteetin määrittävät henkilökohtaiset vietit ja mieltymykset objektiivisen moraalin ja Jumalan lain sijasta, arvostus perhe-elämää kohtaan on vähitellen hiipunut johtaen mm. avioeroihin ja rikkinäisiin parisuhteisiin. Yleisesemminkin arvovapaa maailma on edesauttanut identiteettikriisiä, mikä näkyy erityisesti nuorten pahoinvointina. Valitettavasti kristitytkään eivät ole vapaita ympäröivän yhteiskunnan ideologisista paineista ja väärät käsitykset rakkaudesta ja hyvästä elämästä saattavat helposti sujahtaa kristityn sydämeen. Tervetuloa tulevana keskiviikkona 8.5. kuulemaan opetusta aiheesta, kun vieraaksi kiltailtaan saapuu filosofi ja kasvatustieteilijä Tapio Puolimatka. Ilta pidetään Kylän olohuoneella (Jämeräntaival 5 A), ja varsinainen ohjelma alkaa klo 19.00. Olet kuitenkin tervetullut etkoilemaan jo klo 18.30 alkaen. Illan päättää ilmainen iltapala ja -hartaus.

Generally speaking, however, the evening will consist of a teaching, a free evening snack, socialising, and a devotional.

Ylistys ja rukous on elintärkeä osa uskovan elämää. Tuodaan yhdessä kaikki kiitos- ja rukousaiheemme Jumalan eteen. Tulkaa, kiittäkää minun kanssani Herraa, kunnioittakaamme yhdessä hänen nimeään! 30 16:15: Saunailta Velskolassa 30.05.2024 16:15 Velskolan kurssikeskus Vääräjärventie 2 Espoo, Pian on aika rentoutua Ristin killan saunaillan merkeissä. Espoon Velskolassa torstaina 30.5. järjestettävässä saunaillassa on tarjolla mahdollisuus lautapeleihin, löylyihin, musiikkiin, keskusteluihin ja rauhoittumiseen. Saavuttaessa tarjolla on päivällinen. Sen jälkeen meillä on kaksi puolentoista tunnin saunavuoroa. Lähtö on JMT 8:n eli Otaniemen kappelin tienhaarasta 30.5. klo 16.15 ja paluu Otaniemeen 22.30. Lisätietoja ja ilmoittautumislinkki lisätään lähempänä tapahtumapäivää!
